Celebrating Employee Ownership
This year’s EO day once again aligns with our EO anniversary, marking three years as an employee owned business. We took this opportunity to hold a day of team building; reflecting on our progress and warmly welcoming our new team members.
How are we owning it at Melior?
Employee ownership (EO) is something we actively live and reinforce in how we work together. This year’s EO Day theme #OwningIt, gave us a great opportunity to reflect on what that really means in practice.
At Melior, “owning it” is about taking responsibility for the success of the business, supporting one another and contributing ideas that help shape our direction. Over the past year, we’ve worked hard on the idea of owning ideas and running with them by:
- Encouraging open discussion and shared decision-making across the team
- Giving everyone a voice in how the business evolves
- Welcoming new colleagues into our employee ownership culture from day one
- Motivating employees to start and take ownership of ideas via working groups
- The introduction of our internal innovation hub
As we now surpass three years of employee ownership, EO Day is a reminder that every member of the business plays a part in driving Melior forward – that’s something we’re proud to own.
Celebrating together
To celebrate EO Day and our anniversary, we stepped away from the day-to-day and spent time together as a team to have some well-earned fun.
We started the day back in the office, coming together to reflect on our journey so far and look ahead to what’s next. This was also a great opportunity to properly welcome our newer team members and share in the wider Melior story.
From there, we headed out to Lincoln Arboretum for a picnic. With the sun out and plenty of picky bits, it gave everyone a chance to unwind and connect outside of the office which is a welcome change for those who a home-based!
The afternoon took a more competitive turn with a trip to the bowling alley, the support team dominated the field with everyone making huge progress during the second round.
To round off the day, some of the team headed home, while others continued into the evening. Overall EO Day 2026 was a great way to celebrate together and reinforce the strong team culture that underpins everything we do.
