MacMillan Coffee Morning
On the 23rd of September, Melior Solutions held our quarterly Quality Management System Review but also joined this with a MacMillan Coffee Morning to raise money for a very worthy cause.

Team Building Day
Firstly we welcome to Melior Solutions, Laura who is working in Development and Gajasree who is working in Quality. We are thrilled to have them onboard and their input as Employee Owners.
The day started off with an opening by Michelle who asked us all if we moved to a tropical island. What would we miss the most?
Michelle started by explaining she would miss the English countryside and across the varying UK seasons. Jake would miss his car but perhaps not the bills it causes. Brett said he would miss social aspects and also his cat, Laura would miss electricity and the mod cons than come with it. Chris was happy to leave but wanted to know if he could bring a Kindle, hammock, and his choice of cocktails with him. Steven mentioned he wouldn’t miss anything and would enjoy being away and off grid. Conner had a fair point about needing access to toilet roll which we can all agree with. Matthew wouldn’t be without his computer which was no surprise. Gajasree mentioned about having a good supply of insect repellent. David would miss music both playing and listening to. Jack while admitting he would have a go at building a beach bar he would miss an English Pub on a cold or rainy day.
Following this fun icebreaker, David provided a business brief to offer updates and insights to all the Employee Owners of our achievements in the last quarter and our goals for the remainder of the year.
Then we moved into the QMS review for the quarter that was organised by Chris as well as a quiz to break up the proceedings. Following this Michelle did an overview of the business financial and some insights into how they are handled and managed with valuable feedback for how this can be improved in future communications across the business.
The highlight of the day which was a relaxed but entertaining afternoon to support MacMillan. Everybody brought in items for our coffee morning which become more of an afternoon tea with various home-made cakes, jam and scones with other baked sweet treats. All accompanied with good strong English Tea on the finest bone China. Collectively we raised £129.00 which Melior has matched to make a total of £258.00. So all very worthwhile for Macmillan. This will help purchase more than 400 copies of one of their booklets about cancer and emotions or four nurses to help people recently diagnosed with cancer.

Employee Owner Voices
Gajasree who joined us just that week summed up the day:
“Joining Melior has been both energising and inspiring. From my first day, I’ve been welcomed by a supportive team that values collaboration, innovation, and excellence. I’ve begun contributing to the Quality Department, participated in team-building activities, and joined the Macmillan Afternoon Tea fundraiser — a meaningful initiative that reflects Melior’s commitment to community engagement. It’s motivating to be part of a workplace that blends purpose with connection. I look forward to growing with Melior and contributing to its continued success.”
Laura who started a week prior said:
“The MacMillan day was really fun and a great way to get to know the team. It’s always great supporting a charity like MacMillan!
I’m excited to start working at Melior solutions as a software developer! Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly. I am also looking forward to learning more about how the software at Melior solutions will contribute to the pharmaceutical industry.”
